Saclà, the authentic Italian food producer, settled in Asti by the Ercole family and now at its third generation, have installed more than five thousand square metres of solar panels in the family's factory in Italy, producing enough power to run a complete production line – the same amount of energy used by 265 Italian families of four for a year!
The panels are producing enough energy to completely power the "speciality line" where Saclà pack both their organic and premium ranges.
The 5,090 square metres of panels produce 700 kilowatts which equal to nearly eight hundred thousand kilowatts a year, saving 400 tonnes of CO2 a year.
This link provides a continuous update on the incredible environmental savings, how much energy is being produced at any one time, and how much has been produced in total on that day, month and year from the start up of the project.
