Three generations of the Ercole family have helped to shape Saclà's deep cultural roots. From the early beginnings, in 1939, each generation has built on the spirit of creativity, flexibility and enthusiasm that is at the heart of our philosophy and culture. SACLÀ was founded in 1939 in Asti, in the fertile region of Piemonte in Northern Italy. Since many centuries, the region around Asti, the so-called "Astigiano", is well-known for its wealth of high-quality vegetables.
Piera and Secondo Ercole
Piera and Secondo Ercole, the company founders of SACLÀ, aimed at using the experience gained in this region and at improving the conservation of vegetables. From the very beginning, the company's strategy focused on carefully processing freshly picked produce and on keeping their authentic taste. In parallel to its rapid expansion, SACLÀ continuously broadened its offering and soon established itself as one of the most progressive food manufacturers in Italy being today market leader in olives, pickled vegetables and antipasti categories.
Carlo Ercole
Carlo Ercole, elder son of our founder, has been the inspiration behind our creativity. Blessed with the produce of the fertile soil of the Piedmonte region, we share his passion for superb local vegetables, cooked to authentic local recipes. After all, this is the secret behind the delicious taste experience in every jar of pesto, pasta sauce and antipasti Saclà.
Lorenzo Ercole
Lorenzo Ercole, younger son of the founder, has given us the technical expertise to capture the full flavour of perfectly ripe produce, picked at the peak of perfection. His flexible management style – and respect for the seasonality of produce, has helped to shape our company culture, protecting and developing our longstanding relationship with the local community, especially our suppliers: the farmers with whom we partner.
Giuseppe Ercole
Giuseppe Ercole, son of Carlo has given new energy to our vision to promote national and regional Italian cooking throughout the world. His dynamic approach to exploring new and exciting extensions to our ranges is tempered, always, by his insistence that we must continue to nurture our traditional products, many of which are market leaders.
Our hope and ambition for the future is that Saclà remains a family business. We look forward to a future which sees the next generation of the Ercole family continuing to guide our Saclà philosophy, in which human values are paramount – and our enthusiasm for excellence is at the heart of everything we do. |
